| Welcome to the Spondyville Visitors Center. Spondyville is a cyber-town for people who have Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS), and for the people who know and care about them. This site does not concentrate on the medical aspects of AS. There are many sites on the internet that deal with that. For the very best medical information regarding AS, I would direct you to the Spondylitis Association of America web-site located at www.stopAS.org or www.spondylitis.org The Spondyville Online Support group was founded in 1995, on AOL. Due to an increasing demand by non-AOLers to have access to our chats, we moved the home base of the group from AOL to Yahoo Groups in January of 2001. In 2006, Yahoo decided to discontinue its chat rooms, so we moved the Spondy Cafe to our website. Currently, we have message boards on both the Yahoo and MSN Groups sites. The concept of Spondyville is simple. In a town where everyone has AS, no-one can feel they are going through this alone. What would a town be like if having AS was 'the norm'? Our purpose continues to be to help ourselves and our fellow spondys cope with AS through humor, friendship, support and information.
